Use AWVs to Build Trust, Address Key Health Concerns
and Support Medication Adherence
for Your New and Existing Patients

Annual wellness visits (AWVs) are an important opportunity to provide excellent patient experiences. They offer a way for your patients to connect with you, ask questions and receive personalized guidance from you. That’s why we encourage our plan members to have this visit.

Our member population continues to grow, and you may have new Peoples Health patients assigned to your panel. An AWV is the best way for them to establish a relationship with you.

View your full panel: Log in to Member Viewer  through the UnitedHealthcare Provider Portal, then scroll to the Additional Tools section. Select Peoples Health Member Viewer and choose List All from the Criteria drop-down menu.

Important steps

  • Review for specialists and other providers the patient is currently seeing
  • Discuss prescription and over-the-counter medications, supplements and vitamins
  • Inform of when and how the patient will receive any test results
  • Ask about balance or walking problems and provide treatment options if needed
  • Discuss urinary incontinence and recommend treatment options if needed
  • Review exercise level and encourage physical activity
  • Ask about mental health

Help patients adhere to medication regimens:

  • Prescribe 100-day or 90-day supplies
  • Encourage mail-order programs
